Chin implants are a relatively small procedure that can create dramatic changes in an individual's overall appearance. The implants are usually made of silastic, and once inserted in place through well-concealed incisions, are permanent for a lifetime. These silastic implants feel like the chin bones on which they are inserted, and work very well to augment deficient areas of the individual skeletal contour. The result can be creating a natural chin appearance in an individual who previously had a weak chin. Occasionally, removal of the buccal cheek fat pad is performed to further thin out a round appearing face. |
